I haven't read more than a few Janwillem Van de Wetering's books with Henk Grijpstra, Rinus de Gier and the Commisaris but I loved them. So I decided to read that series for the challenge. I'm starting with the 1st one (OUTSIDER IN AMSTERDAM) where "Piet Verboom is found dangling from a beam in the Hindist Society he ran as a restaurant-commune in a quiet Amsterdam street."Della Streetwisehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05438127536935500336noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3566219501850777383.post-44407510276426809202012-01-01T11:31:25.904-05:002012-01-01T11:31:25.904-05:00Hi Rhiannon! I hope you can find one you want to read through this year.

I know what you mean about dropping a series if you don't feel compelled to read all the books one after another. One exception for me was Louise Penny. I read her first book, Still Life, and thought it was OK but I didn't feel any strong desire to read further. But I picked up the second book at a book sale and finally read it after it had sat on my TBR shelf for months. Then I was possessed. I tore through all the rest in a very few weeks.

Was there a series you discovered in 2011 that you needed to devour?Sister Mary Murderoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13721665989818474295noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3566219501850777383.post-76298823990325325802012-01-01T02:30:33.776-05:002012-01-01T02:30:33.776-05:00Rapid fire is usually the method I use to catch up...Rapid fire is usually the method I use to catch up on a new to me series. I love reading that way. If a series captures my interest I want to devour every book in it. It does make seeing character development easier. If I don't have an intense need to keep going until I am at the current book the series probably will not stay in my rotation.Rhiannonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12645360794045281784noreply@blogger.com
